A Stealth Startup headquartered in Copenhagen is currently working on building the newest IT management solution for enterprises to use. They’re a dedicated SaaS Business building a platform to manage, optimise and anticipate IT needs without all the typical headaches.
Currently, most companies struggle to optimise and utilise their technological resources efficiently, and this new Stealth Startup believes that businesses, as known, are poised for a massive IT management revolution.
They envision a world where the right tech tools are used optimally, reducing waste and ultimately contributing to a greener environment. Essentially, they're building the OS for IT - a system designed to maximise efficiency, promote sustainability, and support businesses in their core missions.
Your new role
As the Head of Engineering, you will help build a new generation of IT management software, pioneering the technological direction and enhancing how businesses use their resources. This is a unique chance to assemble and lead a team and lay the foundation for a well-backed Stealth Startup’s future growth. You will be working with a seasoned team who have spent years honing their skills at companies such as Peakon and Roger.ai.
In this role, your main responsibilities will include:
- Setting the vision and strategic planning for the technology roadmap: This entails working in sync with the founders and the leadership team, understanding their long-term goals, and defining how their technological advancements align with these objectives.
- Leading the technical team through the entire product lifecycle: From the initial stages of product discovery to the final stages of product delivery, your leadership will be essential. You will oversee the continuous improvement of their products, ensuring that their technology stays competitive and meets their clients' evolving needs.
- Managing the technology budget: This will involve making sound investment decisions that maximise their ROI while ensuring the technological operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Ensuring security and compliance: You will oversee all aspects related to security and compliance, ensuring that their data and systems adhere to the relevant laws and regulations. This will also include building relationships with their technology partners and fostering collaboration to optimise their IT operations.
- Creating a culture of innovation: They value creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. You will play a significant role in cultivating an environment encouraging innovation and problem-solving, paving the way for groundbreaking developments in IT management solutions.
What you’ll need to be a success
To excel in this role, you will need proven experience in a similar leadership role within a technology company, preferably with full-stack JavaScript expertise, specifically with Node.js, Next.js, Nest.js, and React. Experience in Postgres, GraphQL, and performance optimisations will be vital. Additionally, having experience working with Agile development methodologies and code reviews, and building high-performance scalable SaaS apps would be a significant asset.
They are looking for a leader who is not just technically sound but also possesses excellent communication skills. Someone who can use stakeholder feedback to make necessary technological improvements and adjustments. Furthermore, you’ll bring the following:
- Proven experience as a CTO, Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role in a technology company.
- Proven experience with strategic planning and vision setting for an organisation’s technology roadmap.
- Experience leading, hiring, and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
- Budget management experience, with the ability to make sound investment decisions.
- Experience managing relationships with technology vendors and partners.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations for data security and compliance.
- Full stack JavaScript experience is required, preferably with Node.js, Next.js, Nest.js, and React.
- Solid understanding of Postgres, GraphQL, and performance optimisations.
- Experience in the specification, architecture, and implementation of solutions.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and code reviews.
- Experience working on high-performance, scalable SaaS apps.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary technological improvements and adjustments.
